On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, family members of missing person, ROC SANON, 43 of Dorchester reported him missing to the Boston Police Department. The victim who has only recently immigrated to Massachusetts from Haiti, and does speak any English was last seen around 10am on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. The victim was due to get on the #23 MBTA bus and get off at Columbia Road but never made it to his destination nor has he been heard from or seen since.

The victim is described as:

Sex: Male
Race: Black, Non-Hispanic
Ethnicity: Haitian
Age: 43 years old
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 170

The victim has no identifying information on him, and may have some mental issues.

MISSING PERSON- COLLEGE STUDENT FROM MISSION HILL

On February 8, 2008, family members of missing person, NICHOLAS SOVA, reported him missing from 97 Hillside St. in Roxbury. The victim, a Northeastern University student, disappeared from his home the day after the Superbowl, February 4th and has not been seen or heard from since that date.

The victim is decsribed as:
white, non-Hispanic male
22 years old
6"00" tall
200 lbs
Brown Hair

Yang Xiaochun, an asian female, also know as Jennie, was last seen at approximately 1:30pm on 10/3/07 near the cab stand at 800 Boylston Street (Hynes Convention Center and the Prudential Center). Boston Police seek assistance in locating 65 year-old Sadie Owens who was last seen at 405 River Street, Mattapan. She is described as a black female, 5’7” tall, thin build, short hair with gray in the front and salt & pepper all around. Boston Police from District 3 are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 11-year-old boy. The victim’s mother reports to police that she dropped her son off at the Soloman-Lewenberg School this morning. He was expected to meet his sister at the McDonald’s in Mattapan Square after school, which he never did. The missing child’s name is Javon Wright, 11, of Stoughton. Javon is a black male (light complexion), 4’11”, 79lbs., slim build, wearing blue pants, light blue shirt, white adidas sneakers, a blue “Sean John” hoodie and black coat. Javon has no psychological or physical disadvantages and recently moved from Mattapan to Stoughton.

Boston police and Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office are seeking help in identifying a woman whose body was found last year in the chimney of a Dorchester building in hopes that someone might recognize her description. The woman’s remains were found by workmen at 17-19 Winter Street on Oct. 14. This case was profiled on the America’s Most Wanted television program this past Saturday. Anyone with knowledge of the woman’s identity is urged to call the Boston Police Department Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470 .

On June 2, 2006, officers responded to a call for a found body on Causeway Street, across from Banknorth Garden. The deceased is presumed to be homeless and was possibly living in that area. This is not a homicide. At this time, Boston Police are seeking public assistance to identify the victim.

According to the Medical Examiner, the victim is reportedly a white male, estimated to be in his mid 30’s to mid 40’s, 5'9" tall, and a medium build. The victim also appeared to be missing his left front tooth.

At the time of his recovery, he was wearing blue jeans and a blue and white colored "Boston Marathon 1995" jacket.

Tattoos are described as follows:

• Upper right chest is what appears to be a Viking, wearing a horned helmet and standing on a cloud. Beneath the Viking is the word "Boston"

• Across abdomen is large, arching letters spelling "Terminator". Centered directly beneath the word Terminator, is an additional design resembling a “joker” wearing a multi-pointed hat

• On back, left shoulder, is a portrait of a woman's face

• On left side of back, and diagonal to the portrait tattoo, is a green-colored dragon

• Center of back, are several Asian letters running lengthwise along the spine.

• Center of lower back is a second green-colored dragon.

• Right arm is completely tattooed, from wrist to shoulder.

• Inside of right leg, below the calf, but above the ankle is what appears to be a yin yang symbol.

On August 1, 2006, officers responded to a call for a found body at 800 Boylston St., in the area of the Prudential Center. At this time, Boston Police are seeking public assistance to identify the victim.

This is not a homicide, but the deceased remains unidentified. According to the Medical Examiner, the deceased is a white female, estimated to be in her early to mid 20’s, 4’11” tall and weighing about 105lbs. The police have received information indicating that she was last seen on Monday night, July 31st. She was wearing a blue dress and a pink colored straw, fedora style hat. She was not wearing shoes.

Boston Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing Dorchester man diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. Michael Igoe, 52, was reported missing from 25 Virginia Street, a group home, by a caretaker last night at 9:30pm. According to the caretaker, Igoe was last seen at the home on Wednesday night around 10:00pm and possibly seen in Copley Square on Thursday afternoon.

Igoe is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, 160lbs, slim build. He has brown and gray hair, is clean-shaven, with hazel eyes. He has a scar on his abdomen and is left-handed. He has been known to frequent libraries in the Uphams Corner and Harvard Square area. Igoe has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic but is not known to be violent.

Harry Ellcock, 80, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and relies on multiple medications daily for other health issues, was found this afternoon in West Roxbury. Thank you for your assistance in locating this individual.

Boston Police are actively searching for a missing elderly Hyde Park man missing since 3:30pm yesterday. Harry Ellcock, 80, of 187 Clare Avenue was last seen yesterday afternoon wearing a gray baseball cap, blue short sleeve shirt, gray pants and white hi-top sneakers. He is described as a light complexioned black male, 5’10” tall, 170lbs, with gray hair and mustache. He suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and relies on multiple medications daily for other health issues. He was last seen leaving his home on Clare Avenue.

Anyone who may have seen Mr. Ellcock or may know of his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Keith Turner at 617-343-5607 or call 9-1-1.

About 12:25am this morning, officers from District 18 responded to a call for shots fired at 1 Rosa Street. Upon arrival officers located a victim inside of a motor vehicle suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Boston Police Homicide Detectives are actively investigating this incident and urge anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470 or to remain anonymous call the Boston Police Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS

This site has posted a few items concerning human trafficking. Which eventually led to the question “What exactly is human trafficking?”

Attached is a fact sheet on human trafficking prepared by the Boston Area Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force. The fact sheet explains what human trafficking is, what it isn’t, and how to help victims. For example:

Many victims of trafficking are exploited for purposes of commercial sex, including prostitution, stripping, pornography and live-sex shows. However, trafficking also takes place as labor exploitation, such as domestic servitude, sweatshop factories, or migrant agricultural work. Traffickers use force, fraud and coercion to compel women, men and children to engage in these activities… Trafficking is not smuggling. There are several important differences between trafficking and smuggling.

Andrea Magaw, who has been missing since August 18th, was located following a tip to MA State Police Hotline. She was located in Revere.

Boston Police are still searching for Jasmine Seymour, who has been missing from Dorchester since April, 2005. She may be in the Boston area. She is 17 years old. If located please contact Sergeant Detective Kelley O’Connell at the Boston Police Family Justice Center at 617-343-5783.

About 12:20am this morning, MBTA police reported that they located an elderly woman matching the description of Violet Jordan, an 83-year-old missing person from Abbot Street in Dorchester. She was located at Blue Hill Avenue and American Legion Highway. Boston EMS responded to the scene for an evaluation and she was taken to an area hospital as a precaution. Ms. Jordan has since been reunited with her family.

Boston Police are actively looking for a missing 83-year-old woman who was last heard from around 10:00am this morning by her family. Violet Jordan of 22 Abbot Street, Dorchester is described as a black female, approximately 5’5 “ tall, about 130lbs. She may be wearing a burgundy colored hat, a pink sweater and a blue winter coat. She is also experiencing the effects of early Alzheimer’s. Anyone who may have information on her whereabouts or who sees a person matching her description is asked to contact the Boston Police.

Catherine Merrill, 87, was last seen this morning at 140 Clarendon Street. She has memory and vision problems and wears glasses. She is white, 5'4" tall, 90 pounds, gray hair, wearing a purple hat, black jacket, dark pants, dark sneakers with white stripes and purple gloves. She frequents Shaws on Huntington Avenue, Trinity Church & Downtown Crossing. She carries a medicare card with her name on it. Anyone with information should call 911.

At about 11:58pm January 16, 2006 an officer from District 2 located 79-year-old Rossell Friday at the Forest Hills T-station. The officer had observed an elderly male standing outside of the bus terminal as he proceeded to District 2. Once at work he was informed of the situation and immediately returned to Forest Hills Station. An MBTA transportation supervisor and the officer located Mr. Friday and took him to an office inside the bus terminal. The MBTA employee provided a blanket and the police officer gave Mr. Friday his coffee. EMS responded and transported Friday to Carney Hospital for observation and to be reunited with his family.

At 6:50pm on January 16, 2006 officers from District 2 responded to 10 Aspen Street for a report of a missing 79-year-old male. Officers were informed that the missing man is currently suffering from Alzheimer’s and has not been seen since 8:00am this morning. His name is Rossell Friday Jr. and is described as a black male, 5’11”, with a gray beard and glasses. He was last seen wearing a royal blue coat, a dark green jumpsuit with beige collar and black Reebok sneakers. He frequents the Washington Park Mall area, the Walgreens at Quincy and Warren Streets and the Grove Hall area.

Emergency Deployment Teams from each district have been sent to the area and an extensive search is underway. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Mr. Friday or who may have seen a person matching this description is urged to contact the Boston Police.

Two sisters Romonita Flores (age: 13) and Cassandra Flores (age: 15) have been missing since November 8th, of 2005. They are known to frequent the Dorchester St. and Hamilton St. area of Dorchester.
