At about 5:38am, on Monday, May 14, 2012, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a person breaking into a home under construction in the area of 44 Spencer Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers spoke to an individual doing work on the home who stated that when he arrived at the residence to do work, he heard water running in the basement. Upon hearing the noise, the worker went down to the basement to investigate the cause of the noise. When he entered the basement, the worker says he observed an individual, covered in water, carrying a bag of copper pipes. According to the worker, there was water everywhere and the pipes had been recently cut down. Upon seeing the worker, the suspect dropped the bag of pipes and fled the area.

Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspect over the police radio. In short time, officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description of the suspect. Upon stopping the suspect, officers noted that his clothing appeared to be wet.

After being positively identified by the worker, the suspect, a 27 year-old male from Dorchester, was arrested and charged with Breaking & Entering a Residence, Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

At about 6:04pm, on Sunday, May 13, 2012, officers from Area A-15 (Charlestown) responded to a call for a taxi driver being robbed in the area of Rutherford Ave & Washington Street. While en route to the call, officers learned that two suspects, described as two white males, were seen fleeing the area on foot after robbing the cab driver. According to the operator, one of the suspects was wearing a black Bruins t-shirt while the other was wearing a green Celtics t-shirt. The cab driver further stated that the suspect wearing the Bruins t-shirt pointed a firearm at him and demanded money. At this point, the taxi driver says all parties exited the cab and a physical altercation ensued between him and the two suspects. During the altercation, the driver says that the suspect wearing the Bruins t-shirt shot him twice with a pellet gun and then jumped into his cab and took off down Devens Street. After travelling a short distance in which he came into contact with and damaged two parked cars, the suspect wearing the Bruins t-shirt exited the cab and took off running. In the interim, the suspect wearing the Celtics t-shirt, who apparently forgot something inside the cab, approached the cab, reached inside and retrieved a floral arrangement consisting of orange, yellow and red flowers and then took off running.

In short time, officers were able to locate two individuals who matched the description of the suspects. After a lengthy foot pursuit, officers were able to catch up to and apprehend both suspects. During the foot chase, both suspects were seen discarding several items. Officers were able to recover several items including a black pellet gun.

Officers arrested Shawn Hickey, 40, of Boston (Bruins t-shirt) and charged him with Armed Carjacking, Armed Robbery, Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (pellet gun) and Leaving the Scene After Causing Property Damage.

Officers arrested Brian Cunneen, 21, of Lowell (Celtics t-shirt) and charged him with Armed Carjacking and Armed Robbery.

At about 8:59pm, on Saturday, May 12, 2012, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a motor vehicle crashing into the front porch of a home located in the area of W. Park Street & Westcott Streets. On arrival, officers observed a white motor vehicle that had crashed into the front porch of a home located at 620 W. Park Street.

Officers further observed a large crowd physically subduing two black males. According to several witnesses, the individuals being restrained had been occupants inside the motor vehicle that had crashed into the porch. Three males in their thirties, who had been sitting on the porch at the time of the accident, were transported to Brigham & Women’s Hospital where one was treated for life threatening injuries while the other two victims were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

According to several witnesses, the car was travelling at a high rate of speed along Standish Street before it crashed into the porch. After the car crashed into the porch, witnesses say, four occupants exited the car and attempted to flee the scene. Two of the four occupants (the operator and a passenger) were physically restrained by several witnesses who observed the accident and sought to hold those responsible until police arrived. The identity of the individual operating the motor vehicle remains undisclosed while the investigation continues.

At about 3:10am, on Saturday, May 12, 2012, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) were on scene at an earlier call when officers observed a black make kick over a sizeable pile of trash at the intersection of Harrison Ave and Essex Street. After watching the suspect kick over the pile of trash, officers then watched the suspect walk by a marked police cruiser, turn his head and spit on the cruiser as he walked past it. Seeing this, officers approached the suspect to inquire about his behavior. Upon seeing the officer, the suspect pushed the officer to the ground. After a brief altercation, officers arrested Kevon Stamper, 22, of Boston and charged him with Assault & Battery on a Police Officer. During the booking process, the suspect asked officers why he was inside a police station because he had no idea as to why. When told that he had been arrested, the suspect stated that he had been drinking whiskey all night and that he was mad at himself for doing so.
