Update: Police Identify Victim in Dorchester Shooting
At about 6:34 PM, Saturday March 9, 2013, officers from district C-11(Dorchester) and district B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Columbia Road between Washington Street and Hancock Street, Dorchester.
Officers were advised the victim was operating a grey Toyota Corolla. On arrival, officers and EMS found the motor vehicle on Columbia Road at Hancock Street. Officers found two male victims in the motor vehicle both suffering apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced deceased on the scene. He has been identified as Thaddeus Clark , 18. The other male victim was transported to Boston Medical Center for further treatment.

Police Investigate Evening Shooting in Area of Kingsdale Street in Dorchester

At about 8:42 PM, Monday, March 11, 2013, officers from district B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 86 Kingsdale Street.
On arrival, officers located ballistic evidence at the intersection of Wales Street and Kingsdale Street. Officers were advised by dispatch that a victim was dropped off at Boston Medical Center. The victim told officers he was operating a motor vehicle on Talbot Avenue in the area of Franklin Field when an unknown suspect(s) fired shots at his vehicle. The victim stated he drove to his girlfriend’s house to pick her up and then went to the hospital. The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his right arm.

Boston Police Investigate Armed Robbery of Controlled Substances from a Pharmacy in Brighton
At about 1:14pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2013 officers from District 14 (Brighton) responded to an armed robbery in progress at 1690 Commonwealth Ave, Brighton (Sutherland Pharmacy).
Officers spoke with a female victim who described the suspect as a white male, 6’3”, 30-35 years old, wearing a dark sweatshirt with plaid material on the collar area, light gray eyes, facial hair and a white surgical mask on his face. The female victim told officers the suspect walked inside the store and yelled “Everyone get on the floor right now!” The victim further stated the suspect had a silver firearm, approached her at the pharmacy counter and continued to yell “Get me the Xanax and the Klonopin!!”. The victim stated she was in fear of her life so she ran to the safe and gave him all of the prescription drugs, he demanded. The victim stated that after she handed the suspect the drugs he immediately ran out of the store and took a right in the direction of Wilson Park.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter and searched for the suspect to no avail.

Boston Police Investigate Motor Vehicle Accident with Serious Injuries in the Area of 885 Boylston Street
At about 2:04 AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 885 Boylston Street (Whiskey’s Bar).
On arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who reportedly observed the victim in a verbal argument with an unknown white male suspect. The suspect was described as about 5’10″, 30-32 years old, wearing a dark hooded jacket with fur on the hood. Witnesses stated the suspect was in the middle of Boylston Street and yelled, “Expletive Boston, and Expletive your businesses!” turned around and punched the victim who fell in the street. Witnesses reported a cab traveling inbound on Boylston Street ran over the victim while he was unconscious in the road and dragged him under the vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene inbound on Boylston Street then took a left on Fairfield Street. Officers canvassed the area to no avail.
The operator of the taxi cab stayed at the scene and stated he was traveling inbound on Boylston Street in the middle lane and did not see the victim in the road. The operator stated he didn’t know the victim was under the car until bystanders motioned for him to stop.
The victim was transported for injuries to the face and lower body to Massachusetts General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Job Well Done!!! Officers Recognized for Great Police Work in East Boston
On a late Sunday night, in early April, Officer Polcaro of District A-7 (East Boston) was on patrol in the area of 32 Ashley Street when he observed two indviudals attacking and attempting to rob a lone victim. Thanks to the officer’s keen observation and immediate intervention, the assault stopped and the suspects fled the scene. A description of the suspects and their direction of flight was promptly broadcast over the police radio. Upon hearing the broadcast, Officers Espino, Dugal and Silva responded to the area in and around the Orient Heights train station. On arrival, an MBTA employee alerted the officers to two males who appeared to be running from something. According to the MBTA employee, the suspects had boarded a bus that was idling in front of the station. After boarding the bus, officers observed and apprehended the suspects wanted in connection to the armed robbery. Great teamwork!!!Boston Police Arrest One Suspect After Hotel Evacuated in South Boston
At about 6:37 pm, Friday, March 1,2013, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for an investigate person in the area of 63 Boston ST (Courtyard Marriott)
On arrival, officers observed a male victim being treated after getting sprayed with mace. The victim stated he met a person who he believed to be woman on-line and made plans to meet. The victim stated he met the suspect in her hotel room so they could “hang out”. The victim stated when he went to use the bathroom, the door was locked and the suspect stated he could not use it. The victim believed someone was in the bathroom and stated he was leaving. The suspect told him he could not leave. At the same time, the bathroom door opened and another male exited stating, “Let him go”. When the victim attempted to leave the suspect sprayed the victim in the face with mace, and continued to spray at him into the hallway as he fled. The suspect claimed she threw the mace out of the window for her protection. The suspect was later identified to be a male.
Several other hotel guests stated they were having trouble breathing and the building was evacuated, EMS responded and treated the guests.
Zackery Johnson, 34, of Newark, NJ was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery, Dangerous Weapon
Update: Photo and Information of Suspect in Relation to the two Armed Robbery Investigations in Jamaica Plain
The suspect is described as a black non-Hispanic male, about 20 years of age, 5’9”- 6’1”, slim build, wearing a zippered gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, running sneakers with white strings and in possession of a handgun. It is assumed that the suspect is operating an unknown type of motor vehicle based on the time of the robberies, distance and time it took the suspect to get from Jamaica Plain to Mattapan. Suspect likely used the Jamaica Way and Morton Street to get away from the area. The area of the robberies borders the city of Brookline.
The robberies occurred during the evening hours between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm, on February 27th & 28th.
The incident descriptions are as follows:
1. At approximately 7:55pm on Thursday, February 28, 2013, officers from District E-13 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 24 Eliot Street. The victim stated he was robbed at gun point in the rear of 24 Eliot Street, after he parked his vehicle on Dunster Road and cut through the pathway of the Eliot School. The victim stated the suspect approached him and demanded money. The suspect took the victim’s wallet and cell phone and demanded his ATM password. The suspect stated “Don’t give me the wrong number because I know where you live and I’ll come back.” The victim complied and gave the suspect the correct password. The suspect ordered the victim to leave the area, displayed the gun and stated, “Run”. The victim described the suspect as a black male wearing a gray hoody, pulled up over his head and blue jeans. At approximately 8:40pm, the victim was contacted by his bank and informed of a withdrawal from an ATM on Blue Hill Ave. Available units on District B-2 canvassed the area to no avail.
2. About 5:55pm Wednesday, February 27, 2013, officers from District E-13 responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 24 Eliot Street. Prior to the robbery, the victim observed the suspect walking around the inside the school for approximately an hour, used the bathroom, asked the victim what classes he taught and spoke to numerous people in the school. The victim stated he was talking on his cell phone as he was walking downstairs when the suspect pulled out a black handgun from his pants and stated “Tell your girlfriend you will call her back”. The suspect then stated, “Give me what you got.” The victim gave the suspect his wallet containing money and his iPhone, then fled out the front door toward Dunster Road. The victim described the suspect as a black male, approximately 6’1, gray hoodie, slight beard, blue jeans who displayed a black handgun. Officers canvassed the area to no avail.

• When parking, walking or returning to your car, remain in well-lit and populated areas. Wear sneakers or shoes that allow for added mobility.
• Be watchful and aware. Keep your head up. Make quick eye contact with those around you and be observant of passing vehicles. Don’t become distracted by talking on a cell phone or listening to an iPod/similar device.
• Avoid walking alone late at night. Walk with friends and people you know.
• If you think that someone is following you, switch direction or cross the street. Walk toward an open store, restaurant or residence and call police.
Safety Message for Students During Spring Break

Spring break brings the opportunity for students to get away but it can also provide opportunity for would be thieves.
The Boston Police Department reminds students to secure their off campus housing units before leaving for ANY length, or extended period, of time. Check all the locks on doors and windows. Ask neighbors to watch the area around your home. Electronic devices are valuable and attractive to thieves, safeguard laptops, game systems, iPods and iPads. take them with you if at all possible. Do not let mail collect in mailboxes or on porches. Keep your apartment from being targeted, leave a light on a timer.
And finally, when you are at home, pay close attention to who’s coming and going from your multi-family dwelling or apartment building. Be sure anyone you do let into the building has a legitimate purpose for their visit.
The Boston Police encourages you to take a few extra minutes to do a simple security check before you leave your unit, it could help prevent you from becoming a victim.
