Boston Police Capture One of the Most Wanted in a Bank Robbery

SIMCOCKAt about 2:58 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013, officers from district C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a bank robbery in the area of 1906 Dorchester Avenue (Eastern Bank).

On arrival, plain clothes officer traveling in an unmarked cruiser observed a man fitting the suspect’s description on Ashmont Street. Officers were aware the same suspect was wanted for prior robberies of the same bank on March 9, 2013 and March 26, 2013. As officers approached the suspect, he fled and a short foot pursuit ensued. He was captured in the area of 10-12 Adanac Street. As the suspect was placed into custody, he dropped a large number of bills (US currency) onto the ground along with a pair of black sunglasses. Detectives located additional evidence including marked currency in the brush where the suspect had been sitting and items of clothing along the path of the pursuit.

A bank employee told officers, the suspect entered the bank wearing a grey hoodie with a black mask covering his face. The employee further stated, the suspect approached with his hands in his pockets and shouted “Now! Now! Give me the cash!” The bank employee also told police no weapon was shown and this was the same suspect who robbed the bank two weeks ago. The employee gave the suspect the contents of the cash in the drawer including marked currency. The suspect left the bank on foot, fleeing inbound on Dorchester Avenue and attempted to get into a cab. Witnesses informed the cab driver “Don’t take him away he just robbed the bank!”

SEAMUS SIMCOCK 31, of Dorchester is charged with Unarmed Robbery.
