Boston Police Investigate a Roxbury Home Invasion and Kidnapping
At about 1:25am on Wednesday May 15, 2013 officers and detectives from District(B-2) responded to 43 New Whitney Street, Roxbury for a home invasion.
On arrival, officers spoke to a female caller who reported four black males forced their way into her home with firearms, kidnapped her daughter and stole her Colby 39″ Plasma TV and Sony Play Station both still in the boxes. The suspects also stole her white Toyota Sienna. The victim told officers the armed suspects were dressed in black hooded sweatshirts and were wearing facemasks. Three of the men were described as thin, the forth as heavy and short. She further reported two of the suspects spoke Spanish, two others were speaking another language Cape Verdean.
The female victim reported once inside the home the suspects repeatedly told her, in Spanish, to keep quiet and threatened to kill her. The victim told officers the suspects taped her mouth, wire tied her hands, and placed her on the couch. A short time later, she stated the suspects marched up to her 16 year old daughter’s room wired her hands together and taped her mouth shut. The suspects then took the keys to the victim’s white minivan, blindfolded the daughter, and took her with them in the minivan.
Several descriptions were broadcasted by police dispatchers of the stolen motor vehicle, the kidnap victim and the four armed suspects.
Less than an hour later, at 2:07am officers located the 16 year old victim in the area of Dunkin Donuts 1213 Adams Street, Dorchester. The teenager still had wire tied around her wrist. Officers located the stolen motor vehicle parked/unoccupied (with keys on the drivers seat) opposite 26 Chesterton Street, Roxbury. Officers also recovered the stolen Colby 39″ Plasma TV near the Chesterton Street location.
Officers continued to canvass the area for the four suspects and a small black sedan the kidnapped victim reported being transferred to, to no avail.

Boston Police Investigate Triple Shooting on Hecla Street in Dorchester
On Friday April 26, 2013 at 11:23pm, officers and detectives from District C-11(Dorchester) along with Officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force responded to 31 Hecla Street for shots fired.
Upon arrival the officers found three persons suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Two of the male victims ran from that location of 31 Hecla Street to the intersection of Adams Street & Hecla Street where the officers located them. They were both transported to Brigham & Women’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A third male gunshot victim was found in the area of 31 Hecla Street and transported to the Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries. All the victims reported they were attending a party at 31 Hecla Street when shots were fired.
There are no suspect descriptions at this time.

Police Arrest Suspect after Assault with a Firearm during a Motor Vehicle Accident in Roxbury
At 11:53am on Saturday, 04/27/2013, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to 34 Schuyler Street, Roxbury, for a radio call for a child struck by a motor vehicle and people attacking the driver.
Upon arrival, officers observed Boston EMS and Fire attending to a female child at 34 Schuyler Street, who had been struck by the motor vehicle. Officers spoke to a female who said she was the driver of the vehicle that struck the child. Officers learned from the operator that she was driving on Schuyler Street with her two daughters when the female child ran out from between two parked vehicles, and into the side of her vehicle. Witnesses on scene stated that the driver of the motor vehicle was not speeding, and also observed the child running out into the street. The operator told officers the child’s family and friends became enraged and starting punching her car windows, and attempted to rip the side mirror off. Officers observed the damage to the mirror. The female operator stated, a male suspect stood next to her driver’s side window, lifted his t-shirt up to reveal what she believed to be a firearm in his waistband, and threatened to cause her harm. She described the firearm as black in color. A second male suspect then opened the passenger side door and grabbed one of the operator daughters and ripped her out of the car. The female reported the suspects heard sirens responding to the scene they fled into a house. The female operator positively identified Aaron Thames,
who was standing on the front porch of 34 Schuyler Street, as the individual who had threatened her with the firearm.
Officers placed Thames, 22, of Brighton, under arrest for Assault and Battery, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to Wit: Gun and Destruction or Injury of Personal Property. The female operator was not issued a citation at this time.
Officers in the living room of the above address observed, next to a brown couch the butt of a black firearm in plain view on the floor. The firearm was photographed and seized as evidence. The location was frozen pending a search warrant.

Police Investigate Death Investigation at 87 Linden Street in Brighton
At 635am on Sunday, April 28, 2013 officers from District D-14(Brighton) responded to a radio call for a building fire at 87 Linden Street.
Upon arrival officers as well as Boston Fire observed a fire in the wood frame building.
After the fire was extinguished a female victim’s body was found.

Hackney Unit Director Placed on Leave
Mark Cohen, a 28 year employee of the Boston Police Department and Director of the Hackney Unit, has been placed on paid administrative leave as a result of an internal complaint.
These allegations bring into question the overall management of the Hackney Unit. Accordingly, until a full review of the Hackney Unit is completed, Cohen will remain on leave.

Safe Street Team Arrests ‘Not So Spicy Cinnamon’ and 75 Year Old Man on Prostitution Charges in Roxbury

At about 5:30 pm on Monday April 8, 2013 officers from the Orchard Gardens Safe Street Team and District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to an investigate premises at 131 Eustis Street. Officers learned a known female prostitute, known as “Cinnamon” was believed to be performing sexual services for a fee at the above address.
Officers familiar with this area observed several persons going in and out of the residence at all hours of the day and night. One person seen leaving 131 Eustis Street stated to officers that they were there to see “Cinnamon” and provided her telephone number.
Officers developed information that the residence was being used as a house of prostitution and money for “Cinnamon’s services were being paid to an older man. The man identified as Fard Ahmed was allegedly charging $20 for a 2 hours room rental and selling condoms and alcohol. Officers learned Ahmed was aware women were preforming sexual services for a fee in the residence.
An officer called “Cinnamon”, telling her he got her number from a friend and would be interested in meeting. “Cinnamon” agreed to meet at 7:30 PM. When asked what the meeting would entail, “Cinnamon” stated “everything”. She told the officer, she rented a room from a man for $20.00 for 2 hrs. and her “services” would be “$100.00 for a half hour that included everything”. Officers agreed to meet.
Upon arrival at the residence officers noticed another male and female entering the same address he was going. Officers texted he was outside. Moments later a female who looked like the woman in the text message picture as well as the prior booking sheet arrived at the door and opened it to allowing the officer to enter. Once inside, “Cinnamon” quickly put a cut 2×4 board on the ground that was measured to fit tightly between the doors to prevent opening. The officer stated he only had half the money and the rest was in the car. She removed the board and the officer opened the door and she said hurry up don’t leave the door open, at which time the officer gave a pre-arranged signal to officers outside. At that point other officers arrived and Cinnamon was placed under arrest.
Shannon-Lynn Quigley, 35, of Jamaica Plain, aka “Cinnamon” is charged with Sex for a Fee (Prostitution)
Nathan Andrews, 75, of Roxbury, aka “Fard Ahmed” also arrested and charged with Allowing Premise Be Used for Immoral Purposes.
Two other females and one male were identified and released.
The apartment was frozen pending a search warrant. Both defendants are expected to appear in Roxbury District Court.

UPDATE: Victim Identified in Death Investigation in the area of 104 Minden Street
On March 31, 2013 at approximately 8:27 p.m., officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a person shot at 104 Minden Street
On arrival, officers observed a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Edward Villalona, 25, of Jamaica Plain.

Victim of March 30, 2013 Fire in Fens Area Succumbs to Injuries
The victim has been identified as Allan Chasas, 47 of Abington.
At about, 6:11pm, Saturday March 30, 2013, officers from district D-4, (South End) responded to a radio call for a fire in the area of 59 Fenway Boston.
On arrival, officers observed a working fire in the weeds in the Fens close to the Mother Rest Playground.
The Boston Fire Department also responded. Officers were told by a witness, a person maybe in the water near the scene. Investigators believe the victim ran through the weeds and jumped into the water. The victim was treated for life threatening injuries and transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he later was pronounced deceased

Update: Second Suspect in Savin Hill Stabbing Apprehended by Fugitive Unit
The Boston Police Fugitive Unit apprehended Daquan Sparks, 19, in Quincy. Sparks is charged Assault with Intent to Murder.
He is schedule to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Friday, April 5, 2013.
The facts of the incident are as follows:
At about 4pm on April 1, 2013, officers from C-11 (Dorcherster) responded to a call for a person stabbed.
On arrival officers observed EMS treating a female victim for multiple stab wounds.
The victim told officers her baby’s father asked to meet in the Savin Hill area so he could give her a pair of shoes for their eight month old child. The victim stated as she walked down Midland Street with her child in a stroller, the child’s father attacked her, and restrained her while his current girlfriend, Samia Jones allegedly stabbed her.
Jones also has a child with the victim’s baby’s father.
Boston Police Detectives executed a search warrant at the home of Samia Jones and placed her under arrest. Police obtained a warrant for the baby’s father, Daquan Sparks.
Samia Jones, 17, of Boston is charged with Assault with Intent to Murder. Arraigned in Dorchester District Court, Jones is being held on 50,000 bail.
The victim remains in stable condition. The baby was not injured.
