Boston Police are asking for the public’s assistance to locate Leland Corning. He is described as a 12 year old, black male, med complexion, with freckles on the left side of his fa
ce, 5’5”, heavy set, 209 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, khaki fleece jacket, black pants and black boots. Leland has Asperger’s Syndrome and is very sensitive to people touching him. Leland was last seen around 8:30am on Glenway Street in Dorchester.

Traft will fight on the undercard of a main bout featuring the likes of Framingham’s Danny O’Connor who will be fighting Salem’s Derek Silveira.
O’Connor enters the fight is looking for his 20th victory. He is a two-time national amateur champ with a 19-1 professional record which includes seven KOs. O’Connor is ranked 15th in the world by the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and 22nd in the World Boxing Council (WBC) rankings.

Boston Police Investigate Shooting Incident in the area of Dorchester Courthouse
At about 10:05am, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of the Dorchester Courthouse. On arrival, officers located a male victim who stated that, after exiting the courthouse and getting into his motor vehicle, an unknown Hispanic approached him and fired several rounds. The victim states that his motor vehicle was struck and damaged by the shots fired. The suspect was seen entering a black motor vehicle and fleeing the scene. A description of the suspect’s motor vehicle was broadcast over all channels of the police radio. A search of the area enabled officers to locate the suspect’s motor vehicle parked in the area of 20 Bowdoin Ave.
Upon locating the vehicle, officers immediately set up a perimeter and awaited the arrival of the Boston Police SWAT team. Once on scene, the SWAT team entered the location and discovered that nobody was in the residence. However, a search of the location enabled detectives to recover ballistic evidence.
The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District C-11 (Dorchester) detectives at 617-343-4581.

Unlawful Gun Possession Leaves One in Police Custody on District C-11 (Dorchester)
At about 4:47am, on Saturday, January 12, 2013, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call to investigate a person in the area of 26 Orne Street in Dorchester. While responding to the call, officers observed a motor vehicle, running with its lights on, parked in front of 9 Auriga Street. As officers got closer to the car, the car, which was occupied by two individuals, attempted to drive off. Seeing this, officers instructed the operator to stop the vehicle. While talking to the occupants of the car, officers recognized one of the occupants (the female passenger) as a person with outstanding warrants. As such, the female passenger was asked to exit the car and was placed under arrest.
While talking to the operator of the vehicle, officers observed what appeared to be illegal narcotics in plain view on the center console and floor of the vehicle. When asked about the drugs, the operator nervously stated that he had recently loaned the car to his brother and the drugs likely belonged to him. Officers asked the operator to exit the vehicle. Once outside the vehicle, a pat frisk of the suspect enabled officers to feel and seize a firearm tucked inside the suspect’s waistband.
Officers arrested Marcus Meritt, 35, of Boston and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Possession of a Class B Drug (cocaine).
Armed Home Invasion in Dorchester Leads to Arrest & Recovery of Gun
At approximately 10:00 am, Thursday, January 10, 2013, officers responded to a radio call for an armed home invasion on Livingstone Street in Dorchester (Area B-3). While en route, a description of the suspect vehicle was broadcast as a silver Honda Civic occupied by at least two light skinned Hispanic males.
Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victims, who stated while leaving their apartment two males held them up at gunpoint and took them back inside the apartment and ordered them to the ground. The suspects robbed the victims and removed items from the apartment. The victims said the suspects then exited the house and left the door open and the victims observed them drive away in a silver Honda Civic or Accord down Livingstone Street toward Blue Hill Avenue.
While officers were speaking with the victims an officer on patrol stopped a motor vehicle in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Geneva Avenue which matched the description of the motor vehicle wanted in connection with the armed home invasion.
Officers arrested Randy Soto, 22, of Boston and Victor Baez-Lara, 21, of Roxbury & recovered a firearm. A third suspect entered the Stop and Shop and a search for the suspect to no avail. Soto will be charged with Armed Home Invasion, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Baez-Lara was placed under arrest for Armed Home Invasion, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and issued Boston Civil citation for Possession of Marijuana.
Search of a Home in Dorchester Enables Police to Arrest Two for Drug Trafficking and Seize Nine Firearms Including an AK-47

Additionally, officers located and seized approximately 250 grams of a Class B Drug (cocaine). Officers noted and observed that the seized drugs were packaged in a manner consistent with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics. Officers also located and seized a digital scale and various drug paraphernalia including plastic bags of varying sizes.
Officers arrested Estuardo Castillo-Guzman, 43, of Dorchester and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Trafficking Class B Drugs (cocaine).
Officers arrested Amilcar Castillo, 45, of Dorchester and charged him with Trafficking Class B Drugs (cocaine).

Community Alert: Boston Police Investigating Reports of Commercial Vandalism in the Dorchester Area
Detectives from District C-11(Dorchester) are investigating several incidents of vandalism involving commercial windows being broken during the overnight hours in the areas of Fields Corner, Lower Mills, Neponset, Savin Hill, and Adams Village. BB pellet projectiles (photo enclosed) have been recovered at a number of the scenes. There is no description of the suspect/s at this time. No one has been injuries in any of the incidents. Police are paying close attention to these commercial areas.
The incidents occurred at the following locations:
At about 10:24am on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a vandalism report at 1353 Dorchester Avenue. Officers observed two small holes from a bb pellet on the two front windows.
At about 12:02am on Friday, November 16, 2012 officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for an alarm at Boston Party Rentals, 367 Neponset Avenue. Officers observed a broken store front window which appeared to be from a metallic sling shot ball.
At about 3:30 pm, Friday, November 23, 2012 a male victim reported that at 1370 Dorchester Avenue the side window at that location had been shot at by what he believed was a BB pellet.
At about 9:00am on Friday, December 7, 2012 officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call at 1534 Dorchester Avenue. Officer spoke to a female victim who stated that at some point during the night someone had shot what she believed was a bb pellet through the window. Officer observed the window which appeared to have a small hole shot through it.
At about 6:00pm on Monday, December 10, 2012 a male victim reported vandalism at 1455 Dorchester Avenue. The front glass plate window had a hole in it and a large ball bearing type pellet on the floor of the shop.
At about 12:56am on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 officers from District C-11(Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a vandalism report at 1141 Dorchester Avenue (Dependable Cleaners). Upon arrival officers spoke with the manager who stated an unknown person/s shot out the store front window with what appeared to be a BB pellet.
At about 10:44am on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 officers from District C-11(Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a vandalism report at 1500 Dorchester Avenue. Upon arrival, spoke with Program Director of Kit Clark Senior Center, stated two of the front windows of the premises were shattered. Two holes were visible. Victim stated this is the third incident in the past four weeks.
