Welcome Back College Students!!!
Over the past week, many of you may have noticed the uptick in traffic congestion as thousands of college students converged on the city of Boston signaling the start of yet another school year in our fine city. As most already know, Boston plays home to some of the finest colleges and universities in the country, schools like Boston University, Boston College and Northeastern University, to name just a few. With the influx of students, comes the added responsibility of ensuring that those who go to school here have a safe and productive experience while doing so. In an effort to ensure that goal, the Boston Police Department, in conjunction with Boston University and Hess Gas, recently set up an informational tent in the area of 100 Brighton Ave where students, who took the time to stop in, were offered and provided information designed to educate them about ways to keep themselves and their property safe. Said Distrit D-14 Community Service Sergeant Michael O’Hara, “More than anything else, we wanted the students to know that we’re here for them. Our job is to keep them safe and the tent gave us a chance and a platform to share that message with them.”
