Community Alert: Boston Police Investigate Robbery Scam in Dorchester

scam alert At about 6:31pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013 officers from District 11(Dorchester) responded to a robbery at 83 Huron Circle.

On arrival officers spoke with an 84 year old male victim who stated at 5:20pm an unknown white male wearing a black or blue baseball cap, blue wind breaker and blue jeans, rang the doorbell posing as a Water Utility Employee. The victim opened the door and was instructed to run the water in the kitchen. The victim complied and while occupied in the kitchen area, a second male, (no further description) went upstairs into the bedrooms and removed approximately $1000. USC dollars and several piece of jewelry. A 71 year old female witness on scene reported the two suspects then fled in a blue utility vehicle (possible KIA model).

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding both of these incidents. Anyone with information is encouraged to call District C-11 detectives at (617) 343-4335.
