Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Shooting in Roxbury

shootingtape About 7:50 pm, Friday March 8, 2013, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 41 Holworthy Street, Roxbury.

On arrival, officers observed a Hispanic male, who appeared to be suffering from gun shot wounds. EMS transported the victim to Boston Medical Center where he is in stable condition at this time.

Officers were given a description of a black Cadillac fleeing the scene. A few minutes later, officers observed a black Cadillac matching the description in the area of Parker Street and Heath Street. Officers observed the motor vehicle slow down, come to a complete stop then reverse into a parking lot. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The uncooperative driver attempted to leave his motor vehicle with the windows open. Officers were able to recover a firearm inside the motor vehicle. The suspect was placed into custody and transported to District B-2 (Roxbury).

Officers arrested Paul Walrond, 22 of Braintree and charged him with Assault with Intent to Murder, Unlawful possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Firearm Discharge within 500 feet of a Dwelling, Unlawful Possession of ammunition, Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Operating Motor Vehicle without a License and Receiving Stolen Property over $250 (Gun).
