Motor Vehicle Stuck in a Sink Hole in the Codman Square Area

At about 2:30 PM, Saturday, March 9, 2013, officers from district C-11(Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a motor vehicle accident in the area of 570 Washington Street, Dorchester. The 911 caller stated that a car was stuck in a big hole in the middle of the street. Fire and EMS responded.

On arrival, officers observed a motor vehicle in the middle of the street stuck in a sink hole approximately three feet in diameter and three feet deep. The victim stated she was traveling southbound on Washington Street when her motor vehicle came to a sudden stop. The victim complained of neck and back pain and was transported to Carney Hospital. The motor vehicle was towed out of the hole. Officers closed the roads leading into the area until the hole was filled in by City of Boston Public Works .
