Boston Police Looking for Golf Cart Thieves in Dorchester

At about 10:03AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, an officer from District B-2 responded to a Breaking and Entering at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park, located at 1 Circuit Drive in Dorchester.

Upon arrival, the officer learned that five golf carts had been removed from a secured holding area. Four carts were recovered near the twelfth hole of the course, but a fifth cart has yet to be located. Each cart has a value of $6,000.00.

The officer observed that the control panel of the carts had been ripped from where they were fastened and that the starters were hot-wired to get the carts moving. A Sawzall may have been used to cut the chain of the gate to the holding area.
