Boston Police Arrest One Suspect After Hotel Evacuated in South Boston

C6 Court Yard incident At about 6:37 pm, Friday, March 1,2013, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for an investigate person in the area of 63 Boston ST (Courtyard Marriott)

On arrival, officers observed a male victim being treated after getting sprayed with mace. The victim stated he met a person who he believed to be woman on-line and made plans to meet. The victim stated he met the suspect in her hotel room so they could “hang out”. The victim stated when he went to use the bathroom, the door was locked and the suspect stated he could not use it. The victim believed someone was in the bathroom and stated he was leaving. The suspect told him he could not leave. At the same time, the bathroom door opened and another male exited stating, “Let him go”. When the victim attempted to leave the suspect sprayed the victim in the face with mace, and continued to spray at him into the hallway as he fled. The suspect claimed she threw the mace out of the window for her protection. The suspect was later identified to be a male.
Several other hotel guests stated they were having trouble breathing and the building was evacuated, EMS responded and treated the guests.

Zackery Johnson, 34, of Newark, NJ was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery, Dangerous Weapon
