Boston Police Arrest One After Hit and Run
About 12:29 AM, Sunday 03/03/2013, Officers from District D-4 (South End) assigned to the area of Lansdowne Street.
Officers were on foot patrol in the area of Lansdowne Street, when they observed a motor vehicle, Mercury Grand Marquis, strike a female pedestrian crossing the street. The vehicle did not attempt to stop after striking the victim.
Officers attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle and promptly broadcasted a description over the radio.
Officers on patrol in the area of 1161 Boylston Street observed a motor vehicle matching the description. Officers positively identified the motor vehicle and operator as involved in the accident.
The victim was transported to Beth Israel Hospital for further medical attention.
EVERETT W STRAUSS, 30, of Peabody was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury and Possession of Class D.
