Snow Emergency Has Been Declared for Boston:

In anticipation of the big storm and for obvious public safety concerns, today (Thursday, February 7, 2013) Mayor Thomas Menino has declared a snow emergency and parking ban which will take effect at 12:00pm, on Friday, February 8, 2013. If you’re parked on a major street, your car must be moved so that snow removal equipment can go about the business of clearing and cleaning snow from the city’s streets and roadways. Your understanding of the parking ban and compliance is greatly appreciated.

The City of Boston prepares year round to make sure community members are safe from snow, ice and extreme cold. To assist us in our efforts to keep you safe, we ask you to look out for your neighbors, particularly the elderly and disabled. Please pay special attention to the rules and guidelines as they apply to snow removal, parking and cold weather safety. And, again, we thank you for being patient as our crews work in difficult and dangerous conditions in their efforts to clear and clean roadways throughout the city.

Call us anytime if you have any questions or are in need of services at the Mayor’s 24-hour hotline at 617-635-4500.
