Call for Person with a Gun Lands One in Police Custody on District B-3 (Mattapan)
At about 4:00pm, on Friday, January 11, 2013, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 22 Lorne Street in Dorchester. Officers spoke to the victim who stated that he was walking in the area of Blue Hill Ave and Harvard Street when a suspect approached him from behind and threatened him with a firearm. Fearing that he was going to be robbed, the victim took off running. The victim described the suspect as a skinny black male in his twenties, 5’6” tall, wearing a red & black jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
In short time, officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description of the suspect. The suspect was returned to the location of the original incident for identification purposes. Upon seeing the suspect, the victim stated, “That’s him.”
Officers arrested Jameil Hodge, 20, of Boston and charged him with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (firearm).
