Police Arrest Three for Armed Robbery and Seize Sawed-Off Shotgun in Mattapan
At about 11:40pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of 825 Morton Street (Walgreens).
A 29 year old male victim reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two black males in the parking lot of Walgreens on the corner of Morton and Norfolk Streets. The victim appeared visibly nervous, frightened, and upset as he stated that two black males pointed a sawed off shotgun at him and robbed him of his Samsung Galaxy Note Cell Phone, Massachusetts Driver’s License, and a large amount of US currency. The victim described Suspect #1 as being a light skinned black male, slim build, approximately 5’11 in height, wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and a knit cap with partial fur flaps that extended over the ears. Suspect #2 was described by the victim as being a light skinned black male, 5’9 in height, with shoulder length braids and thin facial hair, wearing a black jacket, yellow plaid button down shirt underneath, and black jeans. After robbing the victim of his cell phone, license, and money, the victim stated that the suspects fled the scene in a gray, newer model Chevy sedan, being operated by a black female driver.
Officers observed a gray Chevy Malibu sedan sitting at the red light in the outbound lane of Blue Hill Avenue operated by a black female with two black male passengers inside. As they approached the vehicle, the officers observed both black male passengers fit the description of the armed robbery suspects provided by the victim.
During a search of the vehicle officers recovered a black sawed off shotgun.
Suspects Jasmin T.Cobb, 25, of Dorchester, Jermaine O.Omoregie, 23, of Milton, and Neil E.Tom, 23, of Dorchester were arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Sawed-Off Shotgun or Machine Gun.
All of the victim’s items were recovered and turned in as evidence.
All four suspects are expected to be arraigned today in Dorchester Court.
