Police Arrest Suspect for Armed Bank Robbery Downtown

At about 1:38pm on Friday, January 11th, 2013, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a fight involving a person with a gun at 77 Franklin Street (Citizen’s Bank).

A police dispatcher informed officers that two males were fighting inside the bank and one was believed to have just attempted to rob the bank. Upon officers arrival suspect (later identified as) Dana Werrick was on the ground being held down by witnesses. Officers searched the suspect and no weapon was found. The officers spoke with a male witness who reported he was inside the bank at a teller’s counter when he overheard the suspect say to the teller “Give me $300, I have a gun”. The male witness stated that at that point he jumped on the suspect and a fight ensued. The witness was able to subdue the suspect and hold him until officers arrived.

Suspect Dana B.Werrick, 50, of South Boston, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery(Bank).
