Armed Home Invasion in Dorchester Leads to Arrest & Recovery of Gun

At approximately 10:00 am, Thursday, January 10, 2013, officers responded to a radio call for an armed home invasion on Livingstone Street in Dorchester (Area B-3). While en route, a description of the suspect vehicle was broadcast as a silver Honda Civic occupied by at least two light skinned Hispanic males.

Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victims, who stated while leaving their apartment two males held them up at gunpoint and took them back inside the apartment and ordered them to the ground. The suspects robbed the victims and removed items from the apartment. The victims said the suspects then exited the house and left the door open and the victims observed them drive away in a silver Honda Civic or Accord down Livingstone Street toward Blue Hill Avenue.

While officers were speaking with the victims an officer on patrol stopped a motor vehicle in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Geneva Avenue which matched the description of the motor vehicle wanted in connection with the armed home invasion.

Officers arrested Randy Soto, 22, of Boston and Victor Baez-Lara, 21, of Roxbury & recovered a firearm. A third suspect entered the Stop and Shop and a search for the suspect to no avail. Soto will be charged with Armed Home Invasion, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Baez-Lara was placed under arrest for Armed Home Invasion, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and issued Boston Civil citation for Possession of Marijuana.
