Police Locate and Arrest Suspect Wanted in Connection to Armed Robbery at 1772 Dorchester Ave
At about 8:30pm, on Thursday, December 27, 2012, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to call for an armed robbery at 1772 Dorchester Ave (Wells Liquor Store). On arrival, officers spoke to store employees who stated that a male suspect (described as a black male, 5’9” tall, wearing glasses and black clothing) entered the store, stated that he had a firearm and demanded money. According to store employees, after giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, an altercation between the suspect and two store employees ensued. The altercation spilled out to the sidewalk and ended when the suspect fled on foot towards Lonsdale Street. During the altercation, the store employees state that the suspect was struck several times. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspect over the police radio. However, a search of the area proved unsuccessful.
Almost three hours later, at about 11:16pm, officers responded to a call to check on an individual who appeared to be injured in the area of Florida & Mallet Streets. On arrival, officers observed a black male, not suitably dressed for the elements, suffering from what appeared to be lacerations and bruises to his head area. The individual, suffering non-life threatening injuries, was transported to the Boston Medical Center for additional treatment.
Detectives from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the hospital to further investigate the incident. Upon seeing the individual at the hospital, detectives instantly recognized the individual as the same individual wanted for the robbery.
Officers arrested Sean Brown, 38, of Boston and charged him with Armed Robbery.
