Boston Police Investigate Motor Vehicle Accident in Hyde Park

At about 2:47am on Thursday, December 13, 2012 officers from District 18 (Hyde Park) were flagged down by the driver of a vehicle in the area of 1545 Hyde Park Ave.

Officers observed a Ford Explorer crashed into the garage of 1545 Hyde Park Avenue, the vehicle had front end damage and both air bags were deployed. The building appeared to have damage to the garage. The driver of the vehicle, injured in the crash, is an off duty Boston Police Officer.  The officer sustained serious injuries to his head, face, neck, shoulder, and chest area. He also appeared to be in a semi-conscious state and disoriented. He was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Boston Police Internal Affairs Unit is investigating the cause and circumstances of the crash.  At this time no charges have been filed.
