Sleeping in the Hotel Lobby Leaves Two with Reservations Elsewhere

At about 4:43am, on Sunday, December 2, 2012, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for two individuals causing a disturbance at 821 Washington Street (Double Tree Hotel). On arrival, officers spoke to employees of the hotel who stated that two individuals, who were still on the property, were trespassing and responsible for causing damage to the hotel lobby. According to hotel employees, the two individuals, who were not guests of the hotel, had fallen sleep inside the hotel lobby. When the suspects awoke, they began causing a disturbance. When asked to leave, the suspects refused. At one point, hotel employees say the suspects were seen manhandling furniture and throwing informational pamphlets all over the lobby.

Upon entering the hotel, officers did observe damage to the lobby.

Officers arrested two males in their early twenties and charged both with Trespassing and Malicious Destruction of Property (Over $250).
