Update: Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting Death of Leroy Cooper
This morning the Boston Police Fugitive Unit, along with U.S. Marshals and Officers from MOP, arrested Patrick Malone, 21, of Brighton, who is charged in the shooting death of Leroy Cooper. Patrick Malone was arrested for Murder, Armed Robbery, and Trafficking Class B Drugs. He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Brighton District Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the incident are as follows:
At about 5:30pm, on Monday, November 19, 2012, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 114 Leicester Street in Brighton. A search of the area enabled officers to locate a male in his early twenties suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, suffering from a life threatening injury, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Leroy Cooper, 26, of Brewster.
