Community Alert: Police Investigate Report of Assault & Battery in Charlestown

At approximately 9:00am, on Thursday, November 1, 2012, an officer from District A-15 (Charlestown) responded to a report of an Assault & Battery of a 26-year-old female. Officers met the victim at Massachusetts General Hospital where they observed injuries to her face, mouth and arm. According to the victim, the attack occurred the evening previous while she was walking in the area of Lawrence Street. The victim stated that she had felt a strong blow from behind that caused her to fall to the ground and black out.

Upon regaining consciousness, the victim says she ran to her home where she says she blacked out again. Later in the evening, at approximately 4:00am, friends transported the victim to Massachusetts General Hospital. Officers returned to the area of the attack where they discovered a sweater belonging to the victim.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call A-1 detectives at (617) 343-4248.
