COMMUNITY ALERT and REMINDER: Simulated 24-Hour Public Safety Exercise – Urban Shield Scheduled for Tomorrow
On Friday, November 2, 2012, public safety officials from around the region gathered on the campus of UMass-Boston to remind community members that Urban Shield will run a simulated public safety exercise for a 24-hour period starting tomorrow, Saturday at 8:00am through Sunday at 8:00am. Said Boston Police Superintendent William Evans, “The next 24 hours is about testing our abilities to respond to a large scale disaster. The storm damage in New York and New Jersey underscores the importance of this type of training and we’re fortunate to have the opportunity to test our skills in a simulated setting.”
