Looking to Cash In Leaves One Cash Drawer Stealing Suspect Feeling Left Out
At about 5:42pm, on Sunday, October 21, 2012, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a call for a hold-up alarm at 1747 Washington Street (7/11 Convenience Store). While en route to the call, officers learned that the suspect (described as a heavy set, black female, about 5’6” tall, in her late thirties, wearing blue pants and a dark jacket) was last seen fleeing the store with the cash drawer in hand. A search of the area enabled officers to locate an individual who matched the description of the suspect. Upon stopping the suspect, officers noted and observed a large amount of loose cash protruding from the suspect’s handbag. Given her likeness to the suspect, the individual was transported back to the store where she was positively identified by the store clerk. A search of the immediate area enabled officers to locate a damaged cash drawer in the rear of 1701 Washington Street.
Officers spoke to the store clerk who stated the suspect entered the store, stated that she had a firearm, walked behind the counter and took the cash drawer.
Officers arrested Alisha Cohen, 33, of Chelsea and charged her with Armed Robbery
