UPDATE: Police Arrest Three in Connection with the Death Investigation in the Area of 85 Southampton Street
At about 6:44pm, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 officers from District C-6 (South Boston) were in the area of 85 Southampton Street when they heard shots fired.
Officers observed a motor vehicle fleeing the area heading to the Southeast Expressway. Officers lost sight of the motor vehicle and provided operations with a description and its direction of flight.
At the scene where the shots were fired, officers discovered a male victim in his twenties, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was transported to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
A short time later, the Massachusetts State Police observed a motor vehicle matching the description of the car that fled the scene in the area of Freeport Street. Troopers stopped the vehicle, apprehended three individuals and recovered a firearm.
The following individuals have been charged with Murder and the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm: Shakeem Johnson, 22, of Hyde Park, Jaquan Hill,19, of Brockton and a 15 year old male juvenile from Mattapan all will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
