Death Investigation in the Area of 85 Southampton Street
At about 6:44pm, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 officers from District C-6 (South Boston) were in the area of 85 Southampton Street, when they heard shots fired.
Officers observed a motor vehicle fleeing the area heading to the Southeast Expressway. The officers lost sight of the motor vehicle and provided operations with a description and its direction of flight.
At the scene where the shots were fired, officers discovered a male victim in his twenties, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was transported to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
At the same time, the Massachusetts State Police observed a motor vehicle matching the description of the car that fled the scene in the area of Freeport Street. Troopers stopped the vehicle and apprehended three individuals who are now being questioned.
