Update: Boston Police arrest Charlestown man for possessing child pornography

On October 12, 2012 Boston Police Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit arrested James M. Mansfield, 47, of Charlestown.

Mansfield is charged with possession of child pornography. His arrest comes after an internet investigation revealed Mansfield was engaging in graphically sexual chat and exchanging pictures of boys in various stages of undress.

Boston Police executed a search warrant at Mansfield’s home and uncovered evidence on his personal computer.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances in this case.

Mansfield is being held on a hundred thousand dollars cash bail and will be arraigned Monday, October 15, 2012 in Charlestown District Court.
