Boston Police Investigate Early Morning Fatal Shooting in Dorchester

At about 1:06am, on Friday, August 31, 2012, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan/ Dorchester) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of Southern Avenue, Dorchester.

On Arrival, Officers observed a male victim, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
