Boston Police Apprehend 15 Serious Offenders in Pro-Active Warrant Sweep
On Wednesday, August 22, 2012, though earlier today, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force, Drug Control Units, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, along with officers from District B-2 undertook an aggressive effort to remove violent predators from the streets of the City of Boston. The effort was initiated in response to community concerns and to minimize the likelihood that these wanted offenders would continue to victimize the citizens of the City of Boston.
This warrant sweep was conducted over the last four days across different parts of the City and arrested individuals wanted on outstanding warrants ranging from Disturbing the Peace to Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
The Police Commissioner stated in response to the warrant sweep, “We continue our efforts , working with the community, to aggressively target those individuals who disregard the law and return them to court to face a judge. The message is clear, if you there is an outstanding active warrant for your arrest, we will find you.”
Following is the list of targets arrested or in custody at this time:
1. Livingston Walker, 17, of Dorchester, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods
2. Jessie Scroggins, 24, of Dorchester, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Firearm with Altered Serial Numbers; Possession, and Disturbing The Peace
3. Aaron Boyd, 23, of Dorchester, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Chelsea District Court for Operating after Revocation or Suspension
4. Anthony Harris, 19, of Dorchester, was arrested for an DYS Parole Violation Warrant
5. Terrance Belmer, 23, of Roxbury, was arrested for Using Motor Vehicle Without Authority
6. Dejontre Bell , 18, of Roxbury, was arrested for outstanding warrants out of West Roxbury District Court for Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle, Day and Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods
7. Carlos Barros,26, of Roxbury, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Boston Municipal Court for Operating after Revocation or Suspension
8. Tre Lankford, 21, of Mattapan, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of West Roxbury District Court for Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle
9. Shawn Williams, 39, of Dorchester, was arrested for outstanding warrants for Operating after Revocation or Suspension (Boston Municipal Court) and Distribution of Class D, Drugs Within 1000′ School Zone (Dorchester District Court)
10. Male, 16, of Roxbury, was arrested for Boston Juvenile Court warrants for Delinquent to wit: Child In Need Of Services (CHINS), Delinquent to wit: Disturbing A Public Assembly and Delinquent to wit: Destruction or Injury of Personal Property
11. Stephen McDermott, 23, of Quincy, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Quincy District Court for Operating Motor Vehicle Without a License
12. Jerome Smith, 24, of Dorchester, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm , Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Trespassing, and Possession of Class B, Drugs
13. Dennis Ortiz, 18, of Roxbury, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Buying, and Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods
14. Geoffrey Perry, 24, of Roxbury, was arrested for Possession of Class E, Drugs and outstanding warrants out of Roxbury District Court for two counts of Operating after Revocation or Suspension
15. Darnell Hardin, 22, of Dorchester, was arrested for outstanding Dorchester District Court warrants for Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon and Possession With Intent to Distribute, Class B, Drugs
