Death Investigation in the area of Atlantic Ave & High Street

At about 2:22am, on Sunday, July 29, 2012, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Broad Street and Surface Road. When officers arrived at the intersection of Atlantic Ave and High Street, officers observed a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, suffering from life threatening injuries, was transported to the Tuft’s Medical Center where he was later pronounced.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Detectives have identified and interviewed an individual believed to be involved in the shooting. However, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is strongly encouraged to call the detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
