Bridge Dedication in Honor of the Tuskegee Airmen

Please Join the Honorable Mayor Thomas M. Menino for a bridge dedication in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 10:30am.  The bridge is located at Morton Street and American Legion Highway.

The Boston Police Department lost a beloved Tuskegee Airman earlier this year, Deputy Superintendent Willis Saunders.  Deputy Superintendent Saunders served as a legendary Tuskegee Airmen in World War II prior to joining the Boston Police Department in 1956.  Deputy Superintendent Saunders climbed through the ranks from patrol officer to Deputy Superintendent before retiring in 1992.
