Two Recovering from Non-Life Threatening Injuries after Being Struck by Lightning while Watching 4th of July Fireworks
At about 10:55pm, on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for two persons struck by lightning in the area of Thomas Park in South Boston. On arrival, officers observed Boston EMS treating and tending to two victims who may have been struck by lightning. One victim was a 29 year-old male while the other victim was a 29 year-old female. Officers noted that both victims were alert, conscious and talking to EMS personnel at the scene. Both victims, suffering from non-life threatening injuries, were transported to Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
