Attention South End Residents: Did you attend District D-4 Bicycle Safety Day?
Saturday June 23, 2012, the D-4 Community Service Office hosted a Children’s Bicycle Safety Day at D-4. Officers served hot dogs, ice cream, assorted snacks, desserts and cold drinks to all of the attendees. Children were given bicycle safety kits which contained tips for safe bicycle riding and other educational tools. Each child was also provided with a bicycle safety t-shirt along with a bicycle helmet. Over 100 children attended the festivities which also included face painting, basketball playing, and music.
Captain Paul M. Ivens put on a bicycle demonstration and officers fitted the children with their new helmets.
Captain Ivens and the officers assigned to the D-4 Community Service Office would like to thank our community partners Above and Beyond Catering, Peter Scott & Longwood Security, Liz Cahill from Old Dover Safety and Security, PAL, Jeff and Paula MacLean of JPL APPAREL, Ginny Colangelo of Gin C. Productions, Community Bike and Roger Wellington of the Pine Street Inn for assisting us and making this day such a great success for all.
