Boston Police Investigate Double Shooting Incident on Hopewell Road: Detectives Seeking Witnesses

At about 10:12pm, on Thursday, May 10, 2012, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for shots fired at 30 Hopewell Road, Mattapan. On arrival, officers searched the area for victims and witnesses and to no avail.  Officers located and recovered ballistic evidence at the intersection of Hopewell Road and Osceola Street.

While officers were maintaining the crime scene, officers were informed that two walk-in shooting victims arrived at the Carney Hospital.

Officers spoke with a victim, a 26 year old male, who stated he was outside, heard multiple gun shots and started to run after he was struck.

Officers observed a second victim, a 27 year old male, who was being treated by the Carney Hospital staff. 

Both victims were transported and dropped off to the hospital by an unknown individual.  Both victims are expected to survive their injuries.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District E-18 detectives at (617) 343-5607.
