DAILY INCIDENTS FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2009
BOSTON POLICE ARREST THREE FOR GUN AND DRUG POSSESSION
At about 5:40pm, on Sunday, February 1, 2009, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) were on patrol in the area of New England and Southern Avenues when they observed a blue motor vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. As a result of the officer’s observations, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the motor vehicle. As officers approached the motor vehicle, officers could detect a strong odor of marijuana radiating from the car. Upon looking inside the motor vehicle, officers observed four occupants. One of the three occupants was moving in such a way as if to suggest he was attempting to hide or conceal either firearm of narcotics. Given the suspect’s furtive and suspicious movements, officers asked the individual to exit the motor vehicle. A pat frisk of suspect #1 enabled officers to locate and take possession of an undisclosed amount of narcotics packaged in such a manner as if to suggest it was being sold. When officers conducted a search of the motor vehicle, officers located and took possession of additional drugs, a scale and a silver-colored firearm. When asked who owned the firearm, all three occupants of the car stated that the firearm belonged to them.
As a result, officers arrested Tyrone Fleurmont, 20, of Boston, Ali Jean, 21, of Boston and a 16 year-old male from Boston and charged all three with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs (marijuana).
