BOSTON POLICE APPREHEND MURDER SUSPECT

Today, on Friday, September 28, 2007, at about 5:45am, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) successfully affected the arrest of Taquise Johnson, 18, of Roxbury. Police believe Johnson is responsible for the shooting death of Cordeiro Andrade on May 15, 2007.

At about 5:15pm, on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for shots fired on Ames Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located two victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim, later identified as Cordeiro Andrade, 20, of Roxbury, succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the Boston Medical Center. The second victim, a female, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

After a thorough and exhaustive investigation, Homicide detectives applied for and were granted arrest warrants for Jovon Adams, 22, of Dorchester and Taquise Johnson, 18, of Roxbury. Adams was arrested on July 4, 2007.
