Update to Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident

This morning Boston Police Homicide detectives and District B-3 detectives arrested Jason Bailey, 28, of Boston. Bailey has been identified, as the individual responsible for the fatal motor vehicle accident this morning on Blue Hill Avenue.

At approximately 2:44am this morning, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Blue Hill Avenue and Calendar Street. The vehicle was occupied by four individuals. One victim was pronounced on scene and three additional occupants, which included two minor children, were rushed to the hospital and are in critical condition. The Boston Police Homicide unit along with the Boston Police Department accident reconstruction specialist responded to the scene to investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.

Bailey will be charged with Motor Vehicle Homicide, (3 counts) Leaving the Scene Personal Injury, Leaving Scene resulting in One Death, Operating Under the Influence Of Alcohol, Driving to Endanger and Speeding

Bailey will be arraigned this morning in Dorchester District Court.

At this time the identity of the deceased victim will not be made public pending family notifications.
