MAN WITH A KNIFE ARRESTED IN DORCHESTER

At about 11:25pm, on Sunday, June 24, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person with a knife at 81 Sydney Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that a black male, wearing a bandana, chased him with a knife. The victim further stated that the suspect, along with two others, rode off on bicycles. After hearing a description of the suspects broadcast over Channel 6 of the police radio, officers were able to locate two individuals fitting the description provided by the victim. The victim was then brought to the scene where the suspects were being detained and positively identified the suspect who chased him with the knife. Officers arrested a 14 year-old Hispanic male from Dorchester and charged him with Assault By Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife).

HIT & RUN SUSPECT ARRESTED IN THE SOUTH END

At about 6:58pm, on Sunday, June 24, 2007, detail officers on Area D-4 (South End) observed a motor vehicle strike a bicyclist and, then, continue driving. As a result, officers immediately began yelling at the motorist to stop. When the motorist refused to do so, officers broadcast a description of the motor vehicle over Channel 5 of the police radio. Responding units soon located the motor vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. After the vehicle was stopped, the motorist was brought back to the scene of the original incident. At that time, officers and the victim were able to positively identify the suspect. Officers arrested Yeva Kulidzhanova, 21, of Jamaica Plain, and charged her with Leaving the Scene after causing Personal Injury.
