POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING ON TALBOT AVENUE

At 10:54am, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 507 Talbot Avenue. On arrival, officers observed a black female, who was exhibiting violent behavior by wielding a knife and attempting to attack police officers. Officers attempted to elude her and made numerous attempts to have her release the knife.

A final attempt led to an officer discharging his department-issued firearm. She was rushed to an area hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. The officer was also transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Boston Police Firearm Discharge Investigation Team in conjunction with District C-11 detectives are investigating this incident.
