Three Arrested for Trespassing
Last night around 6:48pm, officers from District 6 while patrolling the area of the Old Colony Housing Development observed 3 individuals standing in the hallway of 266 E 9th Street. Officers requested assistance to conduct a FIO of the three individuals. The three individuals fled into the building upon seeing the officers. Officers located the first suspect coming down the stairs from the second landing and the second suspect was coming from the rooftop landing. Officers conducted a protective sweep of the area and stairwell. Officers observed a traffic cone on the top step leading to the roof. Officers lifted the cone and observed a knife and a police scanner. Officers also recovered two small bags of what appeared to be marijuana on the steps where one of the suspect’s was standing. Marcus Smith, 18, of Roxbury along with two juvenile males ages 15 and 16 were arrested and charged with Trespassing. Officers recovered drugs, police scanner, black mask and a knife.
Suspect Apprehended After Breaking into Vehicle
Last night around 11:20pm, officers from District 4 responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering motor vehicle in progress at 413 Mass Ave. Officers were informed that the suspect was still inside the motor vehicle in the parking lot behind 413 Mass Ave. On arrival, officers observed the driver’s side window smashed and an unknown black male seated behind the wheel. As officers exited their cruiser, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot down Columbia Road.
Officers jumped the fence and pursued the suspect through the parking lot into 599 Columbia Road. Further investigation revealed that the door the suspect entered led to a laundry room. Officers conducted a search of the room but did not locate the suspects. A subsequent search of the courtyard was conducted and officers observed the suspect lying on the second floor landing with a black jacket covering his face in an attempt to conceal himself. James Stokes, 39, Roxbury was arrested and charged with Trespassing and Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. Officers located the victim who responded and did not believe any items were taken.
Two Arrested For Breaking and Entering
At 12:35am, this morning officers from District 6 responded to 36 O Street on a report of two suspicious people. On arrival, officers found the front door ajar, and located two males inside. Further investigation revealed that both males did not reside at the residence and could not produce any identification. A check of the apartment revealed the rear porch window was smashed and covered with a quilt. Amaru Salvatore, 24 and John Powers, 22, both of Medford was arrested and charged with Unarmed Breaking and Entering.

DAILY INCIDENTS FOR APRIL 2, 2007
MOVIE BUFF ARRESTED AFTER RIPPING OFF BLOCKBUSTER
At about 3:29pm, on Sunday, April 1, 2007, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at the Blockbuster Video Store on Old Colony Avenue. A description of the suspect (a 5’6” white male with blonde hair, wearing a black hat, black sweater, jeans) was broadcast over Channel 6 of the police radio. According to witnesses, the suspect entered the store, grabbed a bunch of videos (approx. 8 – 10) and then took off out of the store. Officers then located an individual fitting the above description sitting on the stairs inside the Old Colony Housing Development. The suspect was then brought back to the Blockbuster where he was positively identified. Officers then arrested Kevin Carter, 19, of South Boston and charged him with Larceny (under $250.00.
CAR STOP LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS
At about 4:22pm, on Sunday, April 1, 2007, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) observed a motor vehicle make an unsafe lane change on Tremont Street. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. While officers were talking to the operator of the vehicle, officers observed one of the passengers in the rear seat of the car moving in such a way as if to hide something. As a result, officers asked the passengers in the rear seat to exit the vehicle. Officers then recovered a pair of lead-weighted sap gloves (leather gloves with lead sewn into the knuckles). These gloves are illegal to possess in Massachusetts. Officers then arrested Justin O’Connor, 25, of Providence, RI, and charged him with Unlawfully Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. Officers also discovered that one of the other passengers of the car was wanted in Florida. As such, officers arrested Daniel Mercedes, 26, of Providence, RI, and charged him with being a Fugitive from Justice.
ARREST MADE IN MOTOR VEHICLE BREAK
At about 1:10am, Monday, April 2, 2007, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a man breaking into cars opposite 87 Beacon Street in Boston. A description of the suspect (a black male wearing a tan jacket, dark baseball hat, carrying a back pack) was broadcast over Channel 2 of the police radio. On arrival, officers observed a motor vehicle with a broken left rear passenger window. According to witnesses, the suspect looked into the car; smashed the window, jumped inside; took a number of items, and then took off, walking outbound on Arlington Street. Officers then spotted an individual fitting the description of the suspect. The suspect was then brought back to the scene where he was positively identified by witnesses. Officers then arrested Granville Anthony James, 45, of Roxbury, and charged him Larceny from a Motor Vehicle (over $200.00).

We are asking anybody who may have seen the man in the above picture to contact area E-5 Detectives at (617) 343-4566. We are particularly concerned about this individual because he suffers from Paranoia Schizophrenia, and may not be taking his medication in the proper doses. In addition, the missing person resides in Pennsylvania and is not familiar with the Boston area, nor the surrounding towns.
DAILY INCIDENTS FOR APRIL 1, 2007
SHOTS FIRED LEADS TO 2 ARRESTS
At about 12:46am, on Saturday, March 31, 2007, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) heard what sounded like 3 gunshots in the area of Eustis and Adams Streets. Officers then observed an unknown individual, wearing a gray hoodie, walked in the middle of Adams Street. As officers drove towards the individual, the individual then jumped into a parked motor vehicle. Officers then activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and pulled behind the motor vehicle in question. As officers cautiously approached the car, they observed 2 individuals sitting inside the motor vehicle. As they moved closer, officers also observed a firearm on the floor of the car. As a result, both suspects were ordered to slowly exit the motor vehicle. Officers then recovered the firearm (a .357 revolver) from the floor of the car. Moreover, officers then recovered a second firearm from the waist area of one of the suspects. That gun, the second gun recovered, was a .9mm semiautomatic firearm. Officers then arrested William Anderson, 25, of Brighton and Christopher Keeter, 21, and charged both with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
DOG SNATCHER APPREHENDED
At about 8:32pm, on Friday, March 30, 2007, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at Washington and Boylston Streets. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated his dog (a golden brown shi-tzu) was stolen from his truck. According to the victim, his dog got stolen while he was inside a store. When he came out, witnesses approached him and told him that a Hispanic male, riding a mountain bike with flames on the side, entered his truck and took off with the dog. About 7 hours later, at about 4:30am, on Saturday, March 31, 2007, officers were flagged down by the same victim of the above incident. According to the victim, he had just observed the suspect who stole his dog. Officers then accompanied the victim to where he said he saw the suspect. Officers then observed the suspect in question. After talking to the suspect, the suspect did admit to stealing the dog. Officers then arrested Manuel Figueroa, 43, of Boston, and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle and Larceny (over $250.00).
HOMICIDE VICTIM IDENTIFIED
At about 3:46pm, Friday, March 30, 2007, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) received a radio call for a person shot at the intersection of Columbia Road & Washington Street. On arrival, officers located an 18 year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That individual, Dwayne Graham, 18, of Hyde Park was transported to Boston Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced the following evening on March 31, 2007.
Boston Police continue to actively investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
