Murder Suspect Apprehended

Boston Man arrested for the murder of Mark Parilla

As a result of the combined investigative efforts put forth by the Boston Police Homicide Unit, the District Attorney’s office, the Youth Violence Strike Force, the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) and officers from District A-1, authorities have identified and apprehended the suspect responsible for the Charlestown murder of 20-year-old Mark Parilla.

On December 26, 2006 at about 5:05 pm, officers from District A-1 responded to a report of shots fired at 77 Monument St. On arrival, officers discovered Mr. Parilla suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside that location. He was immediately transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was soon pronounced.

After an exhaustive investigation surrounding the facts and circumstances of Mr. Parilla’s murder, Boston Police homicide detectives applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Carlos Maldonado, 24, of Boston. Maldonado was taken into custody today and charged with the murder.
