Akiel Civil, 21, of Dorchester was arrested yesterday in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at 36 Georgia Street on Saturday, November 4, 2006.

At approximately 12:36am, officers from District 2 responded to a radio call for a person shot at 36 Georgia Street. There, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS responded and pronounced the victim at the scene.

Shortly after the murder, Boston Police Homicide detectives were able to identify the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Since the murder, the Boston Police have taken exhaustive measures to locate and place the suspect under arrest. Yesterday evening, Civil turned himself over to officers at District 3 for the purpose of surrendering himself to police relative to the murder investigation.

Civil was booked for murder and will be arraigned today at Roxbury District Court.
