Roll of Honor: Walter A. Schroeder

On this date in 1970, Patrolman Walter Schroeder was shot and killed while responding to a silent alarm at a bank. Officer Schroeder was a 19-year veteran of the Boston Police Department.

Patrolman Schroeder's brother, Detective John Schroeder, was also shot and killed in the line of duty, on November 30, 1973. Boston Police Headquarters is named One Schroeder Plaza in memory of the Schroeder brothers.

On this day we remember the sacrifice that Officer Schroeder made 36 years ago.
