Update: Morton Street Shooting on July 22, 2006

Victim Succumbs to Injuries

At 11:44pm on Saturday July 22, 2006, officers responded to 743 Morton Street for a person shot. Two male victims were located on a porch at that address. One of the victims was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury to the ear. A second male victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head/neck area. This victim, identified as Antoine Perkins, 20, of Mattapan, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

On Monday, July 24, 2006, Perkins succumbed to his injuries. The cause of his death was determined to be complications related to the gunshot wound received on July 22nd and the manner of death has been declared a homicide. (Boston’s 45th of the year)
