Off-Duty Boston Police Officer Injured


At approximately 4:30am this morning, officers from District E-5 responded to an emergency call reporting that an off-duty Boston Police officer had been injured as a result of a department firearm discharge. Officer Joseph Behnke was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital and has been treated and released for a non-life threatening injury. The BPD Firearm Investigation Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
