Suspect Arrested After Shooting a BB at a Student on School Bus in South Boston

At about 1:41pm, officers from District 6 responded to Old Colony Avenue and Preble Street on a report of a person shot. On arrival, officer observed a 14-year-old male with a small laceration on his forehead after being shot by a BB gun. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries. According to the victim and witnesses, who were riding on a Boston Public School Bus, the suspect who was operating a grey pick up truck exchanged words with the victim and then shot a BB gun.

Shortly after the incident, a Detective noticed a truck parked at Old Colony and Patterns Way with a person matching the description of the suspect. After speaking with the operator of the truck, Detectives arrested the driver, Stephen Beck, 23, of South Boston. He is charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon. He will be arraigned in the South Boston District Court on Monday morning.
