Two Men Arrested By Boston Police Detective In Downtown Boston

Earlier this evening, around 4:45PM, a Boston Police Detective assigned to the Bank Robbery Task Force, arrested two individuals at Tremont Street and Winter Street in Boston. The Detective observed a suspect wanted in connection with a Bank Robbery that took place on 01/27/06 in Downtown Boston. The Detective observed the suspect Thomas Brand 26, of East Boston and 27 year-old Michael Arnold of Somerville near Tremont Street and Winter Street in Boston. With Additional assistance from uniformed Police Officers, the Detective and Police Officers conducted a threshold inquiry of both individuals.

Further investigation led to the arrest of both men on various charges. Michael Arnold was found to be unlawfully carrying a firearm as well as having several outstanding warrants. Thomas Brand was wanted on an outstanding Armed Robbery (Bank) Warrant as well as Unarmed Robbery (Bank). A .25 caliber Titan handgun was recovered and held as evidence. Both men will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Friday February 17, 2006.
