Roxbury Man Arrested, Gun Recovered

Officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested 20-year-old Edwin Jones of Roxbury, just after 8pm last night in the area of Warren and Waumbeck Streets. Jones was walking in the area and was found to be carrying a loaded .32 caliber handgun. He was taken to District 2 and will be arraigned today in Roxbury District Court.

Traffic Stop Nets Gun, Two Arrested

Anti-Crime officers from District 3 stopped a car in Dorchester shortly after 9pm last night, for failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver of the car, 20-year-old Joseph Rodreguez of Norwood, was arrested for an outstanding default warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court. A rear seat passenger, Travis Curry, 20 of Mattapan, was found to be in possession of a loaded .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Curry was also arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of the gun and ammunition. Both will be arraigned today in Dorchester District Court.
