Boston Police Incidents for Sunday December 18, 2005

South End Armed Robbery Arrest

About 6pm last evening officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested 17-year-old Chris Cato in the area of 89 East Clinton Street. Cato was positively identified by the victim of an armed robbery moments earlier at 16 East Brookline Street. The victim alleges Cato robbed her at knifepoint of about $190.00. Officers stopped Cato as he fled the scene on a bicycle. A second suspect was questioned and released. Cato will be arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court.

Stanwood Street Stabbing

A 29-year-old female was stabbed to the arm yesterday during an altercation with a boyfriend. The victim’s injuries were considered non-life threatening and she was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment. The boyfriend remains at large.

Dorchester Man Turns Gun and Self into Police

Last night around 8:30pm, 25-Year-old Mario Chaparro of Dorchester walked into the District 3 police station and turned himself and a Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun into the desk officer. Chaparro was not licensed to carry the gun and was arrested at the station.

Downtown Stabbing Leaves Two Injured

Two males were stabbed early this morning in the area of Friend Street and Valenti Way. Both men claim to have been involved in a fight with several people when stabbed. No suspect information was provided to the officers and both victims were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to their chests. The investigation is ongoing.

Gun Recovered, Suspects Arrested after Shots Fired in Jamaica Plain

Around 2:45am officers from District 13 responded to a shots fired call in the area of 133 Forest Hills Street. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. One suspect, a juvenile male attempted to run from police but was apprehended a short distance away. The juvenile was found to be in the possession of a .38 caliber black handgun. Other ballistic evidence was recovered from the scene. Arraignment will be in West Roxbury District Court. The juvenile is charged with Resisting Arrest, Assault with Intent to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition, and Firearm Discharged within 500 feet of Dwelling.

Columbia Road Stabbing Leaves One Injured

Shortly after 4 o’clock this morning District 2 officers responded to a person stabbed at 678 Columbia Road, Dorchester. The victim, a 40-year-old Dorchester man was suffering from an apparent stab wounds to the neck and jaw area. The victim alleges he was stabbed after a conversation with the suspect at a party. No suspect was located and no arrests have been made. The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center and is expected to fully recover.
